Limits and restrictions for children
As the parent or guardian, you set and manage the limits and restrictions on your child's Under 18s account from your Monzo app. This helps your child learn about money safely while you stay in control.
Daily spending limit
Your child can spend up to €250 a day across shops, online and cash machines.
You can set the daily spending limit anywhere between €5 and €250.
Cash machine (ATM) withdrawals
Cash machine withdrawals are capped at €100 a day.
ATM withdrawals count towards your child's total daily spending limit.
This applies in Spain and abroad.
Card controls
You can turn these on or off for your child's card:
contactless payments
online payments
cash withdrawals
To manage limits and card controls:
Open your child's Under 18s account.
Tap the three dots.
Tap Manage account.
Tap Spending limits.
Change the limits, or turn online payments, contactless payments or cash withdrawals on or off.
If you don't see the change straight away, close and reopen the Monzo app.
Blocked categories
To keep Monzo safe for children, we automatically block some shops and businesses that aren't suitable for them. These blocks can't be removed.
Payment links
Your child can receive up to €250 through payment links in any rolling 30-day period. People without Monzo can send up to €100 in one payment; Monzo customers can send up to €250.
Replacement cards
The first two replacement cards each year are free. After that, replacement cards cost €5.
What your child can't do
