What is the Central Credit Register?

The Central Credit Register (CCR) is a database that collects and securely stores information about loans (including overdrafts) and is managed by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) under the Irish Credit Reporting Act 2013 (CRA). You can visit the CCR website, or the CBI's information page.

What information does Monzo collect and share with the CCR?

Monzo is required to collect and share certain information with the CCR in relation to your overdraft, including your:

  • Name

  • Address

  • Date of birth

  • Personal Public Service Number (PPSN)

This information is used to create and update your credit report.

How is this information used?

Information provided to the CCR may be used by lenders to:

  • Assess your creditworthiness for credit applications

  • Monitor your existing credit agreements

  • Fulfil regulatory and legal obligations

If you don't repay your overdraft when you're asked to, this will be reported to the CCR and will appear on your credit report. This may affect your future ability to borrow.

  • Disclose any aggregate foreign debt exceeding โ‚ฌ5,000, if applicable.
