Blocking gambling transactions

If you're looking for help with gambling, you can use our in-app feature to block gambling transactions. This will decline card payments to gambling merchants, both online and in person.

When you turn on the block, you'll choose a cooldown period from 2 days to 1 year. You'll need to wait for that cooldown to end before you can turn the block off or change the cooldown period.

The block works by identifying a gambling merchant code attached to the transaction, and it only applies to card payments. If a merchant isn’t correctly identified as a gambling business, the block may not work and the payment could still go through. If that happens, get in touch and we’ll look at what support we can offer.

How to turn it on

  • Tap the three dots at the bottom right corner of your card on the Home screen

  • Tap Manage account

  • Tap Gambling block

  • Follow the instructions to turn it on
