You can only have a Monzo account in one country at a time

Unfortunately, you can’t have Monzo accounts in more than one country at the same time. So if you’d like to open a Monzo account in Ireland, you’ll need to close your existing UK Monzo account first.

As long as your previous accounts are closed when you start signing up, we should be able to get your new account approved automatically.

We know this isn’t ideal, especially if you’re moving country, and it might mean you choose to use another bank during the move. We’re working on improving this in future so the process is much smoother.
