Direct Debit Refunds
If a Direct Debit payment has already been taken from your account, you may be able to request a refund.
Under SEPA rules:
If the payment was taken in the last 8 weeks, you can request a refund and the money will be returned to your account straight away.
If it was taken between 8 weeks and 13 months ago, we’ll check whether it was correctly authorised before deciding if a refund can be made.
If it’s older than 13 months, refunds aren’t available through the banking scheme and you’ll need to contact the company directly.
Refunding a Direct Debit does not automatically cancel it. If you don’t want future payments taken, you’ll need to cancel the Direct Debit separately.
If a payment shows as Returned or Unpaid, the money was not taken from your account.
If you’re unsure about a Direct Debit or need help requesting a refund, contact us in the app by tapping here and we’ll guide you through it.
