All about the 16 or 17s account
Monzo for 16–17s gives you (almost) everything adults get, so you can manage your money independently.

In order to apply, you must:
Be 16 or 17 years old
Live in Ireland, or have the right to reside there
You won’t be able to apply if you’re abroad or appear to be abroad (for example, if you’re using a VPN).
To apply, you'll need:
Photo ID (passport, driving licence, or national ID card — we’ll ask you to take a photo)
Email set up on your device We’ll send you a message to confirm it’s working
Your own mobile number We’ll send you a text to confirm it
Not ready yet?
You don’t have to switch straight away. Your Under 16s account will keep working until you’re 18, and we’ll remind you before then.
