Questions About Year in Monzo

I can’t find my Year in Monzo.

Open your Year in Monzo here

To be eligible for Year in Monzo, you need to:

  • Have made at least eligible 15 transactions with Monzo (gambling transactions and a few other types aren’t eligible)

  • With at least three transactions in our eating out, shopping and entertainment spend categories

The transactions look out of date

Year in Monzo covers your account transactions from the start of the year until October 31. That gives us time to build the experience.

What transactions are included in Year in Monzo?

Year in Monzo reflects your spending across both your personal and joint Monzo accounts. We also include any Flex spending.

My data looks different to Trends

This might be because:

  • We only include Monzo spending and saving

  • We’ve excluded a few things – like cash withdrawals, transfers and certain types of spending

  • Year in Monzo is about how many times you spent somewhere, and not the amount

My spend with friends looks wrong

You’ll see friends in the experience if they’re in your contacts and you use Monzo to Monzo. We rank them based on how often you pay each other. If there's a tie, we rank them randomly!

Some transactions are from my joint account.

Only the person who made the transfer will see it in their account. We also include money coming into the joint account for both of you, since we don’t know who the money’s for.

I’m in the top percent of spenders somewhere surprising.

At some places, even a few transactions can make you one of their top customers. That's because most people only buy there a few times a year.

If we looked at how much you spend instead of how often you shop, it might look different. But for now, you're one of the top spenders there! 👍

Why can’t I see my top merchants for entertainment, shopping or eating out?

We don’t show some parts of your Year in Monzo if you don’t have enough eligible transactions for them. For the entertainment, shopping, and eating out categories, we show them if you’ve spent money at three or more places in that category.

Can I try the 'savage' option if I picked 'nice' – and vice versa?

Yes you can. Simply start your Year in Monzo again from the app home screen.

Or open it here to go straight to it.

I don’t like my final 'mood' screen. Can I try again?

We built your 'mood' screen based on your spending from the start of the year until 31 October, so you won't be able to generate a new one. If you're not happy with it, let us know and we'll keep your feedback in mind for next year's recap.
