Using Apple Pay or Google Pay with your child’s Monzo card

In Spain, your child needs to be 14 or over to use Apple Pay or Google Pay with their Monzo card.

Once they turn 14, if the option shows in their Monzo app, they can set it up themselves.

If they’re using an iPhone and don’t already have Apple Wallet, they can download the app to use Apple Pay.

If they’re using an Android device and don’t already have Google Wallet, they can download the app to use Google Pay.

How your child can set it up

On their Home screen in the Monzo app, they should:

  1. Tap Card.

  2. Tap Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Pay.

  3. Follow the instructions to verify their card and finish setting it up.

They’ll then be able to pay with their phone or online using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

If they’re having trouble setting it up

You can ask them to try:

  • checking they’re 14 or over

  • checking their card has been activated in Monzo

  • checking their card isn’t frozen or blocked

  • checking their device supports Apple Pay or Google Pay

  • adding their card directly in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

If the option still doesn’t show in their app, you can contact us for help.
