What are cookies and why do we use them?
We want to make Monzo the best it can be! To do this, we use ‘cookies’ (not the tasty kind!). When you use Monzo, cookies learn things from your phone or tablet, like what kind of phone you have or what you've done in the app. Think of cookies like hardworking helpers behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly. They:
Make Monzo work for you: They help our app work properly and remember things like your chosen language.
Keep everything running smoothly: They help us keep an eye on how the Monzo app is doing, so we can quickly fix any problems.
Keep you safe and sound: Cookies also help us keep you safe.
We need cookies to make the Monzo app work. If you don’t want to use them, you’ll need to delete the Monzo app. You can ask your parent or guardian if you have any questions.
Things you can ask us ❓
You can ask us:
For a copy of your information
To correct information that is wrong
To review a decision that’s been made without a human – for example, if we stop a payment
To delete or stop using your information – we can't always do this, but when we can we will
If you want us to do any of these things, please email help@monzo.com and we’ll have one month to do so. You can also ask your parent/guardian to email us.
If you’re under 16, your parent or guardian will need to ask us to do any of the above things. If you're 16 or above, your parent or guardian can ask us and we’ll check if it’s okay with you first. Or you can contact us using the details above.
