Monzo Business: Opening an account
We haven't fully launched business accounts yet, but we're working to release them very soon! For any updates, you can follow along in our community forum.
When business accounts are launched, you can follow the steps below to get started:
You can apply for a Monzo Business account through the Monzo app, whether or not you already have a personal Monzo account.
Monzo Business accounts are only available to businesses based in the Republic of Ireland.
You can apply if you’re:
a sole trader, or
the director of a private company limited by shares (LTD)
You’ll also need to be based in the Republic of Ireland and at least 16 years old.
If you’re a limited company, your company needs to:
have normal status on the Companies Registration Office (CRO) register
have up-to-date details on the Register of Beneficial Owners (RBO)
mainly make money from selling goods or services in Ireland
be tax resident in the Republic of Ireland only
We can’t currently offer accounts to partnerships, charities, DACs, CLGs, unlimited companies, trusts or similar structures. Not all industries are supported, even if your business is registered.
You’ll need to be in the Republic of Ireland and not using a VPN when you apply. You can’t lodge cash into your account right now.
To apply, download the Monzo app and choose Business account. If you already have a personal or joint account, go to Home, tap +, and select Apply for business account.
The application is typically reviewed within a few days.
