Fees and allowances
To view your fees and allowances, tap the three dots at the bottom right of your card, then select “Fees and allowances”.
ATM Fee-Free Withdrawal Allowance
You get 3 free ATM withdrawals every 30 days. These are free from Monzo fees.
Some ATM providers in Spain may charge their own fee. If they do, we’ll include it in the total amount taken from your account. The ATM provider sets this fee, not Monzo.
Once you’ve used your 3 free withdrawals, Monzo charges €3 for each withdrawal outside Spain.
A cash withdrawal might fail if you don’t have enough money in your account to cover both the withdrawal and any fee. We only charge a Monzo fee if you’ve gone over your fee-free allowance.
How Allowances Work with Joint Accounts
If you have a joint account, each account owner has their own allowance.
For example, if you make 3 ATM withdrawals from your personal account, you’ll pay a Monzo fee if you withdraw outside Spain again within 30 days from either your personal or joint account.
But if the other joint account owner has made fewer than 3 ATM withdrawals, they can still withdraw from the joint account without paying a Monzo fee.
Spending Abroad
There are no transaction fees for using your card in Spain or abroad.
Replacement Card Fees
We don’t charge to replace your card if it was stolen, used for fraud, or expired.
For most other replacements, there’s a €5 fee. Sending a replacement card outside Spain costs €35. We’ll show any fee before you confirm.
Other Account Limits
Contactless payments: The contactless limit is €50 per transaction. After you spend €150 using contactless, we’ll ask you to use chip and PIN. You can reduce this limit in the app.
