Fees and allowances

To view your fees and allowances, tap the three dots at the bottom right of your card, then tap Fees and allowances.

ATM fee-free withdrawal allowance

You get 3 fee-free ATM withdrawals every 30 days.

Fee-free means Monzo won't charge you a withdrawal fee for your first 3 withdrawals.

Some ATM providers charge their own fee for using their machine. This fee is set by the ATM operator, not Monzo, and can apply to any withdrawal, including one of your fee-free withdrawals. Where possible, the ATM will tell you about the fee before you confirm.

After you've used your 3 fee-free withdrawals:

  • In Spain: Monzo doesn't charge a withdrawal fee, but an ATM operator fee may still apply.

  • Outside Spain: Monzo charges €3 per withdrawal, plus any ATM operator fee.

Your allowance is based on the number of withdrawals, not the amount you withdraw. It works on a rolling 30-day period, so each withdrawal stops counting 30 days after it was made and your fee-free withdrawals become available again one at a time.

If you don't have enough money to cover the withdrawal and any fees, the withdrawal may be declined.

Joint account allowances

Each account holder has their own ATM withdrawal allowance.

If you've used your 3 fee-free withdrawals, you'll pay the €3 Monzo fee when withdrawing outside Spain, whether you use your personal or joint account. The other joint account holder can still use their own fee-free withdrawals if they have any left.

Spending abroad

There are no Monzo fees for using your card in Spain or abroad, and we don't charge exchange fees. You can read more about our exchange rates here.

Replacement card fees

Replacing a card is free if it was stolen, used for fraud, or expired.

For most other replacements, there's a €5 fee. Sending a replacement card outside Spain costs €35. We'll always show any fee before you confirm.

Other account limits

Contactless payments

  • The contactless limit is €50 per transaction.

  • After you've spent €150 using contactless, you'll need to use chip and PIN before you can pay contactlessly again.

  • You can lower your contactless limit in the app.
