Monzo Business: Closing your account

You can close your Monzo Business account in the app, as long as your account is ready to close.

Before you close your account

To close your account, make sure:

  • your total balance is €0

  • there are no pending card payments

  • there are no open Pots

  • the account isn’t restricted or under review

  • you’re an Admin on the account

If you’re on a paid plan, any unused plan fees may be refunded when you downgrade or close the account.

How to close your account

  1. Go to your business account in the Monzo app.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Scroll down and tap Close account.

  4. Follow the steps on screen.

If you can’t see the option to close your account, something usually needs to be completed first. In some cases, we may need to help you close the account.

What happens after closure

Once your account is closed:

  • it can’t be reopened

  • you’ll get a confirmation email with a final statement

  • if you want to open another business account, you’ll need to apply again

We can’t guarantee a new application will be approved, but we’ll check whether you’re eligible at the time.
