Getting help for financial essentials
If you are struggling with essential costs, there are organisations in Spain that may be able to help.
Energy bills: Contact your energy provider first, as they may be able to offer support or explain whether you’re eligible for help with your energy costs. You can also find help from Cruz Roja.
Food: Your local food bank may be able to provide emergency food support. You can look for support through FESBAL.
Rent: If you’re struggling to pay your rent, you may be able to get support from Cáritas or your local social services team.
Baby supplies: If you need help with essential baby items, Cruz Roja or a local family support organisation may be able to help.
Phone bill: Contact your phone provider first to ask whether they can offer a payment plan or other support if you’re struggling to pay. You can also find general banking and money guidance from Banco de España.
Property Tax (IBI): If you’re struggling to make your property tax payment, please contact your local city hall for support.
