Troubleshooting payment issues

If a payment doesn't go as planned, here's what you can do.

Failed Payments:

  • Incorrect Reference: If a payment failed because of an incorrect reference, check that you’re using the latest version of the app and try again.

What if the recipient didn't get the money?

  • Monzo-to-Monzo: The recipient should check their internet connection.

Undo Payments:

You can undo a payment you've just made by tapping the Undo payment button. This works for Monzo-to-Monzo payments only. The timer is set to 15 seconds by default, but you can change it to up to 60 seconds in Settings > Privacy and security > Undo payments.
