I shared a referral but I did not receive my bonus
If you shared a referral invitation but haven’t received your bonus, there could be a few reasons why:
Make sure that your referral is showing as completed in your Referrals Hub
Tap the 🎁 gift icon in your Monzo app to view your Referrals Hub.
For each invitation that you’ve shared, you should see the status for their invite.
If the referral was successfully completed, you’ll see when your friend officially joined Monzo. You should have also received a notification to your device when they signed up.
If your friend has started the process, but not completed all steps, it will show as ‘In Progress’.
If your friend has not accepted your referral invitation, it will show as TBA.
If your Referrals Hub is showing your referral as complete, but you did not receive your bonus, please chat with us.
Make sure your friend signed up for their Monzo account using the same phone number they entered when accepting your referral invitation
When you share the referral invitation, your friend will enter their phone number on the Monzo website. We then share the instructions on how to download the app and create a Monzo account.
When your friend opens their Monzo account, they must sign up with the same phone number - if not, we aren’t able to link their account and you won’t receive the bonus.
Unfortunately, if its determined that your friend used a different phone number to sign up, we aren’t able to retroactively apply the bonuses for either of you.
You can only receive the bonus for up to 5 friends in a month
Although you can refer as many friends and family to Monzo as you’d like, you’ll only be eligible to receive the $20 bonus for up to 5 friends who join successfully. If you invite a 6th friend in the same month, they will receive your gift of free Monzo Pro for 30 days, but you will not receive a cash bonus.
