Referral program general info

Important Note: You are only eligible for one referral at a time during any 30 day period. In other words, if you refer two friends during the same 30 day window and they both create accounts, you will only receive one referral bonus.
How to earn your referral cashback
1. Share your unique referral link with friends who don’t have a Monzo account.
Your referral link is in the referral section of your Monzo app - tap the Gift icon at the top of your home screen 🎁
2. Your friends tap the link, enter their mobile number, and sign up to accept your invitation.
Your friend needs to:
Enter their mobile number on the Monzo website after clicking your link;
Download the Monzo app;
Apply for a Monzo account using the same mobile number to accept your referral invitation; and
Add money and start spending using their Monzo card.
Once your friend accepts your invitation, they'll receive instructions to the mobile number they provided on how to complete the next steps of their referral.
If your friend does not use the same mobile number to accept your referral invitation and to apply for the account, neither of you will be eligible to receive the referral bonus.
The referral link will expire after 14 days.
3. Once your friend completes the required steps, you’ll both of receive 5% cashback on all eligible purchases for the next 30 days.
You and your friend will receive a push notification to your Monzo app when the cashback 30 day period begins. During that time, you and your friend will receive 5% cashback on all eligible purchases for $500 card spend (up to $25).
You are only eligible for one cashback offer during that 30 day period. If you refer additional friends during that period, you will not receive any additional bonus. Please refer to your Monzo app for information on when the 30 period ends.
You can always track the status of your referral by tapping the 🎁 on the Referrals page. You'll be able to see if we're waiting on your friend to:
accept your referral;
download the Monzo app;
activate their Monzo card; and
spend the minimum amount using their Monzo card.
Eligible cashback purchases
The following types of purchases are eligible for cashback
Online merchants
In-store retail merchants
The following purchases are not eligible
P2P apps like Venmo, Cash App, Paypal, or Apple Cash
Crypto sites or apps
ATM (in network or out of network)
Gift cards
Gambling sites
Monzo instant transfers with friends
Any transaction made using your account/routing number
Transfers to linked bank accounts
Certain digital goods and professional services may not qualify
