What is Trends?

The Trends tab in your Monzo app is one of the ways we help you see your finances like never before.

Trends is 3 different sections that all help you get a better understanding of your money, across all your linked accounts.

💡 Pro tip: The more accounts you link to Monzo - the better Trends will get! We use the information from all your linked banks to make a complete picture of your money. So the more accounts you have connected, the more detail you will see.

Balance 💰

In the Balance section you’ll see a graph of your total balance across all your accounts.

As you receive any paychecks, refunds, or credits - you’ll see this graph go up. And when you spend money with Monzo or any of your linked cards, the graph will dip down 📈

By tapping This Month in the top right corner, you can change the view to show a previous month, or a whole year.

Spending 🛍️

The Spending section shows a bar chart of your spending during a given month. On weeks where you spent more money, the bar for that week will appear bigger.

This tab will also let you see where you are spending your money - broken down either by specific merchants or general category.

If you want to make your budget more personal, you can create custom categories that will let you analyze your spending in new ways 🔍

Target 🎯

Finally, the Target section is a way for you to set a plan for the future. As a quick overview - with targets, you can set goals for how much you want to spend on a given month, and then track things throughout the month to see if you are overspending.
