Sending money to other Monzo users
Sending money to other Monzo users is easy đź’¸Â
If you both have US Monzo accounts, and both have each other in your phone’s contacts - you should see be able to see each other inside the Payments tab of your Monzo app. From there, you will be able to instantly move money between your accounts.
ℹ️ Please note: If you have friends or family with a UK Monzo account, unfortunately you won’t be able to send money to them. We only allow for US Monzo customers to send money to other US Monzo customers, and UK customers can only send to other UK customers.
If you don’t see the person you are trying to pay in your app
Check that you are running the latest version of Monzo app
Ensure both you and the person you want to invite have enabled Find profile by phone number in your Monzo app settings, under Privacy & Security then Profile privacy
Make sure the person you are trying to pay has a US Monzo account, not a UK account
Double check that you have the exact same phone number in your phone’s contacts as the other Monzo customer has on file with us. Sometimes even a small difference, like adding/excluding a +1 country code at the start of a phone number, can cause issues
