I referred a friend, how come I haven’t gotten my reward?
The best way to check why you may not have earned a reward is to contact the person you referred directly and make sure they met all the requirements that they needed to.
As the person sending the link, there are only a couple things you need to double check -
When you sent the referral link, were you eligible for a promotion?
When you tap the 🎁 icon in the Monzo app to send a referral, that page will show you the current promotions you are eligible for. If you didn’t see any mention of a reward when you sent the link, unfortunately you wouldn’t be eligible to earn a reward
If you sent a link that was eligible for a promotion - the friend you referred will also have seen a mention of that reward on the link when they clicked it. Again, if they did not see any mention of a reward - we are not able to give a credit
Have you reached the limit of how many referrals you can send?
Some promotions we run will have a limit on the max number of people you can invite or on the max amount of money you can earn. If there is a limit, you will see that mentioned on the referral page in the app.
If you don’t think those are the issue - you can tap the 🎁 icon on your app’s home page to view each of the referral links you sent individually. From there, you can tap on each one and see which of the requirements they still need to complete.
They can also see that in their app, so we recommend contacting them to see if you can work together to complete those requirements.
If you don’t see a friend listed that you thought you referred - it’s likely one of these things happened:
They never ended up signing up for Monzo
They did sign up for Monzo, but they didn’t use a referral link - they may have just downloaded the Monzo app directly without going through your invite
They signed up for Monzo using someone else’s link
They did use your link, but the phone number they entered on your invite was different than the phone number they used when signing up. They need to make sure to use the same phone number all the way through the process so we can properly track things.
