Will I lose my existing connected accounts if I stop paying for Monzo Pro?
Monzo allows you to link your external bank accounts to provide a comprehensive overview of your finances in one place. The number of external accounts you can connect depends on your Monzo plan:
Monzo Pro: Subscribers can connect an unlimited number of external accounts.
Monzo Base (Free Plan): Users can connect one external account.
What Happens to Your Connected Accounts if You Cancel Monzo Pro?
If you have a Monzo Pro subscription with multiple external accounts connected and you decide to cancel it:
Existing Connections Will Be Removed: Upon the cancellation of your Monzo Pro subscription, all your currently linked external accounts will be disconnected from the Monzo app.
Connecting an Account on Monzo Base: After your Pro subscription ends and your revert to the Base plan, you will be able to connect one external account. You will have to create this as a new connection.
Information for Users with Multiple Connected Accounts (users prior to May 15, 2025)
If you were using Monzo and had connected more than one external account before May 15, 2025:
Your Existing Connections Are Safe: Your current connections to external accounts will remain active, and you can continue to view them in your Monzo app unless you choose to disconnect them yourself.
Adding New External Accounts:
If the number of your existing connected accounts already exceeds the Base plan's limit of one, you will not be able to connect any additional new external accounts.
If you disconnect any of your existing linked accounts, you can add a new one as long as you do not exceed the single connection limit of the Monzo Base plan (e.g., if you disconnect all accounts, you can add one account back).
To connect more external accounts than currently permitted by your grandfathered status or the Base plan, or to enjoy unlimited connections, you would need to subscribe to Monzo Pro.
