💳 Using your card
You can use your card to pay online, in shops, and take money out at cash machines.
Your parent or guardian might not allow all of these. To check, go to your Home screen, tap your profile in the top left corner, then go to Settings.
Your PIN
Your PIN is a 4-digit code that helps keep your account safe.
You’ll need it for some payments in shops and at cash machines. Don’t share your PIN with anyone or post photos of it online.
Forgotten your PIN? Your parent or guardian can check it in their Monzo app:
Go to your card in their app.
Tap Card.
Tap Reveal PIN.
If your PIN is blocked, your parent or guardian can complete a PIN recovery in their app:
Go to your card in their app.
Tap Card.
Tap PIN recovery.
Follow the steps in the app.
Paying in shops
You can:
Insert your card and enter your PIN. This is called Chip and PIN.
Tap your card on the card reader to pay with contactless.
For some contactless payments, you may need to insert your card and enter your PIN to keep your card safe.
Paying online
Don’t share photos of your card online. Your card details can be used to spend money.
To pay online, you’ll usually need your:
card number
expiry date
CVC
delivery address
billing address
Your billing address is the address linked to your card. Your delivery address is where you want your order sent.
Taking out cash
You can use a cash machine, also called an ATM, to take out cash.
Choose a safe, well-lit place. Cover the keypad with your hand when you enter your PIN.
Using public transport
You may be able to use your card on some public transport, if contactless card payments are accepted.
Before you travel, check how you can pay and make sure you have enough money in your account.
If you don’t have enough money, the payment may be declined.
