Monzo Business: Card top ups

Card top ups let you add money to your business account using a card, where the option is available in your app.

Card top ups are different from bank transfers.

During Early Access, SEPA transfers are not available.

How to top up by card

  1. Open your business account in the Monzo app.

  2. Choose the top up or add money option, if shown.

  3. Select card top up.

  4. Enter the amount.

  5. Add or choose the card you want to use.

  6. Review the details.

  7. Confirm the top up.

Limits

Card top ups may have limits.

You can check your limits in the app where available.

If you need a higher limit, request this in the app where the option appears. We can’t guarantee a limit increase will be approved.

If a card top up fails

A card top up may fail if:

  • you’ve reached a limit

  • your card issuer declined it

  • there isn’t enough money on the card

  • the card type isn’t supported

  • authentication wasn’t completed

  • the account is under review

If your card issuer declined the top up, you may need to contact them or try another supported card.
