How do Credit Card Pots handle refunds?

When we sync your credit card balance for a Credit Card Pot, we never automatically move money out of your Credit Card Pot (unless it's to pay the actual credit card bill).

That means that if you got a refund on your linked credit card (or if you decide to use another non-Monzo account to make a payment) - your Credit Card Pot will stay at whatever the balance was before you got the refund.

So - let's say you have a credit card balance of $1000, and your Pot has $1000 to match. Then you get a refund and your credit card balance goes down to $900 - your Pot will stay at $1000. Now, lets say you then go out and buy a $200 item, and your credit card is at $1100. In that case, we would only transfer $100 from your main balance to the Pot - rather than the full $200, since the Pot was already at $1000.

At any time, you can manually withdraw money from your Credit Card Pot if there is too much in it and you want to have access to those funds.

Just remember, if you make a manual withdraw, you will have to go re-set up your credit card syncing so the balance starts updating again (the app will warn you about that when you try the withdraw).
