Young Monzo Photo ID Help
To confirm your child’s details we’ll ask for a photo of their ID for us to review. Which ID to use depends on their citizenship.
If your child is a Spanish citizen
We can only accept their DNI card (Documento Nacional de Identidad – Spanish national identity card) as ID. If they don’t have one, or it’s expired, you can book an appointment at a National Police station to organise a new DNI card for collection the same day.
If they’re an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen*
We need either their passport or their national ID card.
If they’re not any of the above
We prefer a TIE card (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero – Spanish residence card for foreign nationals), but if they don’t have one, we can use their passport instead.
Things to remember
they must live in Spain
their ID must not have expired
their name and date of birth need to match what you shared with us
follow our photo guidelines – this helps us confirm their details faster
We’ll encrypt their info and store it securely, and only use it to verify their identity.
