What is an Emergency Fund Pot?

An Emergency Fund Pot is a specialized type of Pot with a set of features that help you decide what amount you should save as an emergency fund.

When you create an Emergency Fund Pot - the Monzo app will ask you a few questions and help you narrow down how much money you want to set aside. Then, it will create a Pot that has a that amount as a goal - and we’ll help set up recurring deposits so you can reach that goal.

Just like a regular Pot, you can still add and withdraw money from this Pot as needed.

If your life situation changes - you can tap the Edit button on the Pot to stop any recurring deposits you may have set up, or to change the amount of money you want to save.

ℹ️ Please note: Like our all other Pots, the balance in your Emergency Fund Pot doesn’t earn any interest. In the future, we hope to find ways to help your money grow faster.
