What is an Expense Pot?

Expense Pots are a specialized type of Pot that let you better manage your bills and recurring payments.

Basically, Expense Pots are like regular Pots - but you can choose to have specific merchants or transaction categories that will come directly out of the Pot.

When you select a merchant to be spent from a Pot - anytime you make a purchase at that merchant, the money will automatically be taken out of the Pot rather than your main account balance. No need to use a different card number or account number - the app will automatically route the transaction based on the merchant name.

This works similarly for any Categories you have linked to a Pot.

You can read more about how to set up Expense Pots using the article linked below

šŸ’”Pro tip: When you set up an Expense Pot, you have the option to enable "auto-cover". This will allow the app to automatically move money from the main account balance to your Expense Pot whenever a transaction comes through where the Pot doesn't have enough money. If you disable this setting, the transaction would decline.

ā„¹ļøĀ Please note: If you have not set up an Expense Pot for a specific merchant, by default all transactions will come from your main account balance.

We also won't move money out of Pots to your main account balance. So, as an example, lets say you have $0 in your main balance and $1000 in an Expense Pot for Amazon. When you make a purchase at Amazon, it will come out of your Expense Pot. But if you use your card at Target instead - it will decline since your main account has $0.
