What happens if I sign up with a referral link, but then the promotion ends or changes to a new one?

We often run "referral promotions" which allow you and a friend to earn a reward.

If you already have a Monzo account, all you need to do is send your referral link to someone else and have them signup for Monzo. And if you don't have a Monzo account, you can use someone else's referral link to earn the reward.

In addition to creating an account, we will typically require a couple extra steps to earn the reward. These steps can include a number of things - including a requirement to add money to Monzo, spend money with your card, or receive a direct deposit.

As time goes on, we may make changes to our referral promotions. When we do make changes - they only impact new customers signing up.

Once you claim a referral link, you are bound to the terms of the promotion. Except for very rare cases where it may be necessary - we will not change the requirements you need to complete, and we will not change the reward amount for your account.

Please note, it may be possible to find posts or referral links shared online where someone is mentioning an older promotion that doesn't reflect the current reward we are offering.

We don't have control over what our customers say when they share their referral link - if they are sharing incorrect information, that is out of our control.

However, when you click a Monzo referral link - the page you see will describe the exact reward you are eligible to earn by using that link.
