How do Credit Card Jars handle refunds?
When we sync your credit card balance for a Credit Card Jar, we never automatically move money out of your Credit Card Jar (unless it's to pay the actual credit card bill).
That means that if you got a refund on your linked credit card (or if you decide to use another non-Monzo account to make a payment) - your Credit Card Jar will stay at whatever the balance was before you got the refund.
So - let's say you have a credit card balance of $1000, and your Jar has $1000 to match. Then you get a refund and your credit card balance goes down to $900 - your Jar will stay at $1000. Now, lets say you then go out and buy a $200 item, and your credit card is at $1100. In that case, we would only transfer $100 from your main balance to the Jar - rather than the full $200, since the Jar was already at $1000.
At any time, you can manually withdraw money from your Credit Card Jar if there is too much in it and you want to have access to those funds.
Just remember, if you make a manual withdraw, you will have to go re-set up your credit card syncing so the balance starts updating again (the app will warn you about that when you try the withdraw).
