To participate in any of the incentives listed below you'll need to participate in good faith and accept these terms through the Monzo app.
These legal terms are between you and Monzo Bank Europe Designated Activity Company, Sucursal en España, Paseo de la Castellana 43, Oficinas 6-120, 28046 Madrid, Spain.
The eligibility criteria below apply in respect of the promotion(s) you are participating in.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible to participate in an incentive from Monzo Bank, you must be a Spanish resident aged 18 or over with a Monzo account, except Monzo employees.
Sign-up promotion for first 10,000 Monzo Personal Banking Customers and 1,000 Business Customers
Customers who sign up for a Monzo personal account will only be able to receive €25 provided:
You successfully open a Monzo personal account, activate your card, add money to your account and make a card purchase (there is no minimum amount, but withdrawing money using your Monzo card at an ATM or making a money transfer won't count)
You are a personal account holder and you have not already received €25 for opening a personal account.
You're one of the first 10,000 Monzo customers in Spain to meet the eligibility criteria above.
Customers who sign up for a Monzo Business Account will be able to receive €50 provided:
You successfully open a Monzo Business Account, activate your card, add money to your account and make a card purchase (there is no minimum amount, but using the Monzo card at an ATM or making a money transfer won't count).
You are a business account holder and you have not already received €50 for opening a business account and activating your card.
You're one of the first 1,000 Monzo Business customers in Spain to meet the eligibility criteria for Business customers set out above.
If you open both a business account and a personal account, the sum of the amounts credited to your accounts under this promotion will not be greater than €75.
Fees waived for Pro or Team paid plans for twelve Months for eligible Business Customers in Spain who join during early access
To be eligible to participate in this sign-up promotion from Monzo Bank, you must successfully sign up for an early access Monzo Business Account in Spain, as a Spanish resident aged 18 or over.
Eligible customers will have twelve months of monthly account fees waived for 'Pro' or 'Team' paid plans from the date the account is opened.
Customers who are eligible for this promotion cannot receive a cash amount in substitution for this benefit.
This fee waiver promotion is a single, one-off promotional reward and should not be understood as interest, account remuneration or any form of ongoing or recurring benefit.
Tax Treatment
Monzo considers the payment of a cash award as income related to any money you deposit with Monzo, and because of this, a 19% withholding tax applies to any cash payment made to personal customers. Monzo will pay the withholding tax due to personal customers on your behalf and report it to the Spanish Treasury. Where applicable, we will also send you a certificate setting out the tax applied before April 2027. All cash amounts paid to Monzo customers in association with the Sign Up Promotions listed above are net of withholding tax. Monzo reminds customers that they are responsible for their own tax affairs.
The small print
If you participate in any of the promotions listed above, Monzo will assume that you've read and agreed to these rules. These rules are designed to comply with applicable Spanish legal and regulatory requirements on transparency, consumer protection and the conduct of promotional activities.
We'll end or temporarily close the incentives/promotions if we suspect any fraudulent, abusive or suspicious behaviour or any activity that contravenes the spirit or letter of these rules or applicable laws. We can also amend or add to these rules if necessary, with appropriate notice where required.
We'll collect, store and process the data for everyone who participates in this promotion in line with our Privacy Notice and in accordance with relevant data protection legislation. And the last thing from us, Spanish law applies to the promotions set out above, anyone who participates in any of the promotions submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Spanish courts.
