For carers, solicitors, family and friends to help manage an account.

Tell us about the access you need

You can set up access from here whether you're the account holder or the third-party. Tell us more about you and your situation, and we'll reach out with any next steps or questions.

Set up access

Not sure what options you have?

There are two main types of trusted access: formal and informal.

Formal access

These agreements exist outside of Monzo and rely on legally recognised documents.

Common types of formal third-party access:

  • Power of Attorney (POA)
  • Deputyship (Deputy Court Order)
  • Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Appointeeship

If you're in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may be used to different names for these types of agreements.

Informal access

These arrangements exist between Monzo and a Monzo customer. It allows a trusted person, like a friend or family member, to help manage an account with us. Even with informal access, there are different levels of access and control.
