Today we're launching our partnership with Open Palm - a charity dedicated to supporting underfunded schools and their students in the UK. We're working with them to donate our surplus tech to local schools.

Our local area, Hackney, has one of the highest child poverty rates of any London borough. Many schools in the community are in need of tech donations to support remote learning during lockdown, and to help their pupils gain the right digital skills and qualifications to set them up for success.

So, we decided during lockdown to start donating of any surplus laptops we had to support our community. Our partner, Open Palm, has been working to match us with schools that have trouble accessing the right funding, or the right technology. Today, we made our second donation to local schools - this time, Hackney New School - to help their students access the right resources to support digital learning.

The tech sector in London is thriving. Surplus donations of spare technology like this - no matter how small - can help local schools deliver the digital skills needed. For more information about the programme, and how to get involved visit Open Palm's website.
